When parents are living in poverty, their children suffer. Without a source of income, they are unable to provide essential medicine, food, clean water, or pay for their children’s school fees.
In sub-Saharan Africa, many families are experiencing poverty. When you are struggling to survive, education is no longer prioritized. School fees are expensive, so children are forced to drop out and start working to make a living. This harmful cycle continues through generations.
We are working to help parents break this cycle of poverty by assisting them in starting their own businesses through Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs). This will provide them with opportunities to improve their economic situation.
Additionally, we will provide farmers and their families with the necessary skills to grow, sell, and store more food. This will help them support their children’s education and overall well-being.
Furthermore, we are also offering support to young mothers. This includes providing them with life-changing literacy and numeracy skills, as well as access to valuable health and nutrition services. With this assistance, they can ensure their children not only survive but also thrive.
